Cambodia’s secretary of state from the Ministry of Public Work and Transportation said that Cambodia will have the rail to neighboring country Viet Nam, which is beneficial for the economy and tourism.
“It is the first time that we have this rail. I am not sure about the date of construction,” said Mr Chan Kosal, the secretary of state.
The railway will be part of an intra-Asian railway that runs from Singapore to China via Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Viet Nam.
The rail is 257 km and it will cost at least 686 US million dollars.
The 257km railway will start in Kampong Speu Province’s Oudong District, pass by Kratie Province’s Snuol District and end at Viet Nam’s Loc Ninh District in the southern border province of Binh Phuoc.
