PHNOM PENH—Cambodian authorities Sunday deported Russian businessman Sergei Polonsky for alleged immigration violations amid increasing pressure from Russia on the Southeast Asian country to extradite him to face fraud charges.

National Military Police spokesman Eng Hy said police arrested Mr. Polonsky on Dam Luong Island late Friday afternoon. He is being held by local police. Mr. Polonsky’s lawyer, Benson Samay, said he was at the police station with his client and couldn’t respond to questions.
